A Child Labour Free, Just and Equitable Society

BSA in collaboration with the Urban and Rural Civic Bodies, declared the 23 Urban Wards and some rural wards in the Gram Panchayats ‘CHILD LABOUR FREE ZONES’.  

After thorough surveys, awareness programs, friendly approaches, raids & rescue operations against Child Labour in all 23 Wards of Kalimpong Municipality, BSA in collaboration with the Civic Body was able to declare the entire Kalimpong Municipal Area as a Child Labour Free Zone. Consequently, business establishments and households in the urban areas have stopped the practice of employing child labour.

Every child has the right to grow up in a safe and inclusive environment

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child (UNCRC) defines a child as any human being under the age of eighteen, unless the age of majority is attained earlier under a nation's own legislation. The Government of India ratified the UNCRC in 1992.
The UNCRC outlines the fundamental human rights that should be afforded to children in four broad classifications that suitably cover all civil, political, social, economic and cultural rights of every child:

All donations to Bal Surksha Abhiyan are 50% exempt from tax under section 80G of the Income Tax Act, India.
