CHILDLINE 1098 is a phone number that spells hope for millions of children across India. It is a 24-hour a day, 365 days a year, free, emergency phone service for children in need of aid and assistance.<br>
CHILDLINE India Foundation (CIF) is the nodal agency of the Union Ministry of Women and Child Development acting as the parent organisation for setting up, managing and monitoring the CHILDLINE 1098 service all over the country. CIF is the sole agency/body responsible for establishing the CHILDLINE service across the country, monitoring of service delivery and finance, training, research and documentation, creating awareness, advocacy as well as resource generation for the service.

Every year, children dress up as the Three Wise Men and go from house to house after Christmas spreading the message of the gospel. The donations collected by the Carol Singer are used to support people committed to a fairer world for all human beings. Together with partner organisations, DKA Austria strives for a decent life, free from exploitation and poverty, for all people.

The United Nations Convention on the Rights of Child (UNCRC) defines a child as any human being under the age of eighteen, unless the age of majority is attained earlier under a nation's own legislation. The Government of India ratified the UNCRC in 1992.
